Announces 2006 Finalists
ORLANDO,
FLORIDA—March 3, 2006—The
American Resort Development Association (ARDA)announced
today that Orange Lake Resort & Country Club has won 19 of the
prestigious finalist awards given out annually for excellence in
the vacation resort industry.
"Our nominees competed against the very best in the industry,
and to have made it to this stage of the competition is a tremendous
honor," said Resort president and CEO Don Harrill. "We're
very proud to have this group of finalists representing our resort.
They represent the commitment to excellence that continues to underlie
our success."
Orange Lake staff members in administration, housekeeping and maintenance—as
well as marketing and sales—were chosen from among thousands of
nominees from resorts around the world. Also singled out as a finalist
in the Special Events category was Orange Lake's Dixieland Benefit
to raise money for those affected by Hurricane Katrina.
The American Resort Development Association (ARDA) is a non-profit
trade association located in Washington, D.C. ARDA represents the
interests of more than 1,600 resorts, including vacation timeshare
developers, fractional interests as well as timeshare homeowners'
associations and individual timeshare owners across the country.
ARDA annually honors excellence in the vacation ownership industry.
Categories considered for nomination include Resort Design, Advertising,
Marketing & Sales, and Management & Administration.
The Orange Lake finalists will compete for the coveted ARDY Award
to be announced at ARDA's 2006 International Resort Development
Convention and Exposition March 28 at The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino
in Las Vegas.
