Orange Lake Resort Unveils First Phase Of New

River Island Development

ORLANDO, FLORIDA—October 31, 2005—Orange Lake Resort & Country Club today unveiled the first phase of its $50 million River Island development in the resort’s East Village—a brand new Sales Center and it’s companion Tour Reception Center, where tour guests will be introduced to this 1,250 acre resort and it’s brand promise, “Where Vacation Dreams Come To Life.”

The ambitious growth and development that made Orange Lake the largest single-site timeshare resort in the world during it’s first two decades continues with the River Island development, the resort’s most significant expansion project to date. In addition to the new Sales Center and Tour Reception Center, River Island will feature a 12-acre recreational complex complete with a lazy river, over 100,000 square feet of deck space, a 36-hole miniature golf course, pool bars, spas, and a 31,500 square foot dining and retail complex featuring shops, restaurants, a fitness center, arcade, and a variety of other guest services. Additionally, 156 new timeshare units with exciting new floor plans including 3-bedroom villas and a new 4-bedroom/4-bath luxury penthouse will debut when River Island is completed in Spring 2006.

The new Sales Center facility will offer tour guests a tranquil, dream-like experience from the moment they enter the new Tour Reception Center. Along the History Hallway, guests will learn the history and traditions set by Orange Lake’s founder, Kemmons Wilson, who had already become a legend by building the giant Holiday Inn hotel chain when he built Orange Lake in 1982. Leaving the Tour Reception Center, guests will board golf carts for a scenic ride to the new Sales Center on pathways bordering the 18-hole Arnold Palmer-designed Legends at Orange Lakeâ golf course. At the Sales Center, every step of the tour experience is marked by larger-than-life imagery. Giant three-dimensional sculptures help create the atmosphere of child-like wonder.

Orange Lake President and CEO Don Harrill says, “Vacations are larger-than-life experiences for us all. They create great, wonderful memories that last a lifetime. We want our visitors to recall the magic of that experience.”

The Sales Center includes a 7,000-square-foot atrium that looks out on Orange Lake’s new 12-acre River Island pool and recreational complex (opening Spring 2006), dining facilities serving breakfast or lunch to touring guests, and an 80-seat theater showcasing the benefits of timeshare and exchanging. The “Dream Room” centers around a seven-foot, internally lighted globe highlighting the exchange opportunities available through Resort Condominiums International (RCI). Interactive displays let guests calculate the value of their vacations, pick RCI exchange spots around the world, see how many Orange Lake owners are from their home state, and take virtual tours of the sweeping resort property.

“We naturally hope that our guests decide to become vacation owners while they’re here,” Harrill says. “But Orange Lake’s reputation has been built almost exclusively by word-of-mouth, and we want to ensure that all our guests—no matter what they decide—leave with great memories of the experience.”

Orange Lake is already the largest single-site timeshare resort in the world, with more than 2,000 villas, suites and studios—and more than 100,000 owners from all 50 U.S. states and more than 120 countries.
