Largest Water Park at a Timeshare Resort and Other Amenities Open at Orange Lake's New $50 Million River Island Village

ORLANDO, FLORIDA—May 18, 2006—Orange Lake Resort & Country Club today unveiled eight new outlets of their brand new $50 million River Island village, the fourth village added to the more than 1,250-acre resort. At the center of these amenities is a 27,000 square-foot water wonderland, featuring the largest lazy river-style pool complex of its kind at a timeshare resort.  

The resort's most significant expansion project to date, River Island is a 12-acre tropical village that will offer more than 100,000 square feet of deck space, a 36-hole miniature golf course, pool bars, spas, and a 31,500-square-foot dining and retail complex featuring shops, restaurants, a fitness center, arcade and a variety of other guest services. Just last month, the resort debuted River Island's 156 new units with exciting new floor plans including 3-bedroom villas with lock-off options and a new 4-bedroom/4-bath luxury penthouse.

The new outlets revealed at River Island today include Island Traders retail store, a convenience store with groceries, gifts and other items; Currents Café , brewing Starbucks ® brand coffee and featuring a newsstand and comfortable lounge area; Anchors , serving hamburgers and other fast food fare; Treasure Cove , a super arcade and family game center; The Splash Shack, a towel and float rental center; Cabana Key, a private cabana oasis with cabanas available for rent; and Leeward Bar and Windward Bar , poolside bars serving beverages, cocktails and snacks.

River Island's 30,000 square-foot clubhouse, The River Island Exchange , will house two of these outlets— Currents Café and Island Traders—and will also feature the River Island Grilling Company, a family-friendly restaurant serving fresh seafood and plenty of other palate-pleasing dishes in a fun, lively atmosphere. Tradewinds Bar , just off the River Island Grilling Company , will offer indoor/outdoor dining, live music and beautiful views overlooking the complex. Both outlets are scheduled to open June 12.

The next venue that will open at River Island—scheduled for June 5—will be Island Golf, a double-sided 36-hole miniature golf course, winding around trees, rocks, ponds and other natural landscaping.
