"You will not face a decision or enter a door that a prayer has not preceded you!" Rebecca Webb Wilson's mother wrote this note in the author's Bible. It sets the tone for her new book, Songs of Nature: Meditations in Psalms.
Songs of Nature is an artful collection of photographs and Psalms arranged by Rebecca Webb Wilson. Orange Lake is very pleased to present visitors to our web site with a unique opportunity to obtain this inspirational book.
Ms. Wilson is the wife of Orange Lake's Chairman of the Board, Spence Wilson, and has long and close ties to the Resort. The Wilson's have two sons, two daughters and a granddaughter and reside in Memphis, Tennessee.
An amateur nature photographer and deeply spiritual person, Ms. Wilson has combined her favorite images from nature with her special love of Psalms. She's created this uniquely personal 52-week journal showcasing her photography and personal observations to inspire reflection. A related passage from Psalms accompanies each photograph, with a special writing area for the reader to jot down his or her thoughts.
In addition to her writing and photography, Ms. Wilson is the chairman of the board of Bridges, Inc. of Memphis, a non-profit organization that focuses on community youth programs. In 1988, Ms. Wilson founded Bridge Builders, Inc., a youth leadership, human relations and community service program.
A graduate of Vanderbilt University, Ms. Wilson, a former assistant United States attorney, currently serves as vice chair for Vanderbilt's Board of Trust. In 1995, she became an honorary lifetime director for the Memphis Zoological Society and currently serves as a deacon at Second Baptist Church in Memphis.
Ms. Wilson has beautifully captured the wonder and awe of nature with her camera lens, and enriches these images with words of inspiration, perfect for meditation and quiet reflection. Her book, Songs of Nature, makes a great, personal gift for family and friends.

"This is a book of great luminosity. Light breaks out everywhere-in beauty, truth and ultimately in the Divine Presence. The lens of the camera becomes the eyes of the soul penetrating both the beautiful and the brutal in human existence. The Psalms make clear that life always has potential for both…"
Brooks Ramsey, Marriage and Family Therapist
Ordained Minister, The American Baptist Convention
"The ability to capture and share is the role of the blessed photographer. Becky Wilson's new book documents her point of view of the world she travels, and her photography inspires all of us and gives us the opportunity to wonder."
Jack Kenner, Photographer
"Becky Wilson has captured the beauty of creation with her camera and the beauty of the Psalms and her own thoughts to lead us into new beginnings as we consider our awesome God."
Katharine A. Phillips, Teaching Director and Regional Conference Speaker, Community Bible Study
"Becky Wilson shares with us the images she has captured with her camera, and the meditations she has stored in her heart. In this book she invites us also to look at creation and the reflections of our lives, and through them to encounter the Living God of both. She encourages us to take time daily to look and reflect, and in the process to encounter God at a deeper level."
William Clemmons, Retired professor of Christian Spirituality
"Here is a resource for personal spiritual renewal and growth that will help many. The photography alone, connected with the Psalms, provides rewarding reflection. Add to that the reflection of the author and you have a spiritual "meal" anytime you sit at this Songs of Nature table. I happily and heartily commend it."
Maxie Dunnam - President, Asbury Theological Seminary
Author of Workbook of Living Prayer
